Group loot rolls
How items are shared in a Dungeon: Need and Greed, a 1–100 roll, the time to choose, what world residents take and who gets a legendary.
Every item from a boss or a wave is rolled for among the party. Experience and money aren’t split — everyone gets their full share. Enemy materials, recipe scrolls and rare boss materials aren’t rolled for either: every live member gets their own roll (Dungeon materials).
Three choices
- Need — the item suits you and you want it. You can only pick it if the item fits your class: armor of your own weight (plate for a plate wearer, cloth for a mage) or a weapon your class can use. Cloaks, necklaces, rings and trinkets suit everyone.
- Greed — you’ll take it if nobody needs it.
- Pass — you’re out.
Who wins
- If anyone picked Need, the item is rolled only among them — Greed doesn’t take part then.
- Everyone gets a roll from 1 to 100, and the highest wins.
- On a tie, whoever is earlier in the party order wins.
- If everyone passed, the item is lost.
Time to choose
| Run | Time |
|---|---|
| You and world residents | 30 seconds |
| A group of live players | 45 seconds, or less once everyone has chosen |
If you don’t choose in time, it counts as Pass.
World residents in a roll
A world resident picks Need only on an item for their class that they can wear at their level and that’s better than what they’re wearing (the same comparison you see on hover, minus Resilience). Rarity alone doesn’t matter: a green item better than theirs gets Need, a worse purple one gets Pass. Everything else is Pass. An item they win they put on right away, and compare the next drops of the run against it. Residents never take legendaries: a legendary goes to a live player or to no one. Residents get no materials.
Before you choose
Hover over the item in the roll window and a card of what you’re wearing now appears next to it, with the stat difference: Comparing items. How bosses work and what they drop: Boss loot.
FAQ
Why can’t I pick Need on mail if I wear plate?
You can wear it, but Need is only for armor of your own weight. Pick Greed on mail instead.
