The Zarhold team
Who keeps order in Zarhold: the Game Master, Wardens of Order and moderators — who holds which role, the moderator handbook, the table of measures and how to complain about a moderator.
This is the official page: the roles are approved by the Game Master, and the handbook and the table of measures are the same ones moderators open in the game and in the Companion. The Game Master and the moderators work by them — and you can check any of their decisions against them.
Roles
Game Master GM
The game’s administration. The official hero is “Гейммастер” (Game Master), with a “GM” badge by the name.
- Appoints and removes moderators and Wardens of Order, sees every action they take and can undo any of them.
- The only one who blocks accounts or punishes inside the game itself (battles, items, gold).
- Handles the cases moderators hand over: bots, item scams, threats, game bugs, purchase questions.
- Reads complaints about moderators — only the Game Master sees them.
- Answers “Need help” requests and emails to support@zarhold.com.
Warden of Order ⚖ Warden
A trusted moderator. Only the Game Master grants this rank. The badge by the name is a silver “⚖ Warden”.
- Everything a moderator can do — under the same handbook and the same table of measures.
- Also moderates the chats from the Companion and sees the queue of cases handed over to the Game Master.
- Helps new moderators and advises them on what the table says.
Moderator ⚖ MOD
A player whom the Game Master trusts with keeping order in the public chats. The badge by the name is “⚖ MOD”.
- Watches World, Trade and the Companion chat, helps newcomers and calms quarrels with a word.
- Warns, deletes messages and bans posting in public chats — by the table of measures, for no longer than 24 hours, always with a reason.
- Hands everything beyond the chat over to the Game Master. Cannot ban or punish inside the game.
Moderator on trial ⚖ MOD
The first month after appointment. Same powers and badge as a moderator.
- Works under the same handbook and the same table of measures as a moderator.
- The Game Master looks at calmness, fairness, help for newcomers and how carefully reasons are written.
- After the month: moderator, an extended trial or removal from the role.

Moderator handbook
Approved by the Game Master on 1 November 2026. Moderators open the same handbook in the game and in the Companion with the “📖 Handbook” button.
1. Who a moderator is
- A player whom the Game Master has trusted with keeping order in the public chats of Zarhold: World, Trade and the Companion. The badge by the name is “⚖ MOD”; trusted moderators have “⚖ Warden”.
- A moderator is the Game Master’s helper, not the players’ boss. Their job is to keep the chat calm, fair and friendly — especially towards newcomers.
- Ranks: trial month → moderator → Warden of Order (only by the Game Master’s decision).
2. Duties
- Be in the game and read the public chats regularly, especially at busy hours.
- Help newcomers: answer questions about the game or point to where the answer is (knowledge base, forum, “Need help”).
- Calm quarrels down with a quiet word before punishing anyone.
- Deal with violations according to the table of measures (section C): insults, swearing that dodges the filter, harassment, spam, advertising, scams.
- Always write the reason in your own words — clear to the player and to the Game Master.
- Anything beyond the chat (a suspected bot, item scams, threats, game bugs, purchase complaints) goes to “Hand over to GM” with quotes. The moderator does not handle it personally.
- Tell the Game Master about recurring problems: who keeps breaking the rules, which disputes are brewing.
3. Powers (what a moderator can do)
- Warn a player with a personal letter from “Moderator” stating the reason.
- Delete a message in a public chat (it stays in the log).
- Ban a player from posting in public chats for a period set by the table of measures — no longer than the limit (currently 24 hours). A reason is required.
- View a player’s history: recent messages in public chats and past measures.
- “Hand over to GM” — the case goes to the Game Master with quotes.
4. What a moderator can NOT and NEVER does
- Never blocks accounts or heroes and never punishes in the game itself (battles, items, gold) — only the Game Master decides that.
- Does not see players’ private messages, purchases, mail or addresses — and never asks to be shown them.
- Does not moderate disputes they are part of; does not punish other moderators or the administration; is not “softer” on friends and guildmates or “harder” on enemies.
- Does not promise rewards, compensation, dates or game changes on behalf of the team.
- Never reveals who reported whom and never takes moderation conversations outside.
- Never poses as the Game Master and never uses the badge for personal gain (trading, guilds, arguments).
- Does not argue with a punished player in World. Questions about a decision go through “Need help”.
5. What to do about a violation
- Check the player’s history: is this the first violation or not.
- Minor and first — start with a word in the chat or a warning.
- After that — strictly by the table of measures (section C): the period for the step, the reason in your own words.
- Serious (threats, harassment, other people’s personal data, scams, posing as the GM) — a ban by the table straight away + “Hand over to GM”.
- In doubt — do not punish, “Hand over to GM” instead.
6. A moderator’s accountability
- The Game Master sees every action and can undo it. Players send complaints about moderators via “Need help” → “Complaint about a moderator” — only the Game Master sees them.
- Punishing without a reason, not by the table or out of personal dislike, or revealing other people’s data means removal from the role.
- Trial month: we look at calmness, fairness, help for newcomers and how carefully reasons are written. The outcome is moderator, an extended trial or removal.
Table of measures
The moderator picks the violation — the period is filled in by the step (first time / repeat / systematic). A “repeat” is the same violation within 7 days.
| Violation | First time | Repeat | Systematic |
|---|---|---|---|
| Flooding, caps lock, emoji spam, World instead of Trade | a remark / a warning | ban 30 min | ban 3 h |
| Swearing, including dodging the filter | a warning | ban 1 h | ban 6 h |
| Insulting a player, a moderator or the team | ban 1 h | ban 6 h | ban 24 h + “Hand over to GM” |
| Advertising, selling for real money | delete + ban 3 h | ban 24 h + “Hand over to GM” | — (the GM decides) |
| Politics, 18+, stirring up hatred | a warning + delete | ban 3 h | ban 24 h |
| Harassment, threats, insults about nationality, religion or gender | a 24 h ban straight away + “Hand over to GM” (the GM decides on a block) | ||
| Other people’s personal data | delete at once + ban 24 h + “Hand over to GM” | ||
| Scams, posing as the GM or a moderator | delete + ban 24 h + “Hand over to GM” | ||
| Bots, two windows, game bugs, fixed fights | do not punish in the chat — only “Hand over to GM” with the facts | ||
A posting ban applies to the public chats; you can still read the chat, and private messages to the Game Master and “Need help” always work. Only the Game Master can block an account.
How to complain about a moderator
- In the game: “Need help” → “Complaint about a moderator”. Only the Game Master sees the complaint; the moderator will not find out who complained.
- Or email support@zarhold.com — give the moderator’s name, when it happened and what happened.
- Do not argue with a moderator in World and do not answer a rule-breaker in kind — we check the log: every moderator action is recorded there.
