Durability and repair
Items have 30 durability. How much a defeat takes, what happens to a broken item and what repairs cost at different levels.
Gear has durability — 30 points on a new item. It’s only spent on defeats and restored for copper.
When durability is spent
- Every defeat in the open world takes 1 point of durability from each equipped item.
- Wins don’t cost durability. Neither do fights in dungeons, in the arena or in duels.
- So a new item survives 30 defeats in the open world.
Broken items
At 0 durability an item is broken: it stays equipped, but its stats stop working — both in combat and on your character sheet. Items never break for good: once repaired, they work at full strength again. The current durability is shown on the item card.
Repair costs
Each missing point costs (item’s level × 6 + 20) copper. Here the item’s level is the level it was made for (the tooltip’s “requires level N”), not “Item Level” on the scale up to 280:
| Item made for level | Per point | Full repair (30 points) |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | 26 copper | 7 s 80 c |
| 20 | 140 copper | 42 s |
| 40 | 260 copper | 78 s |
| 60 | 380 copper | 1 g 14 s |
You can repair from your character sheet: “Repair” in a single item’s menu, or “Repair all” in the equipment header — the price is shown right away. The merchant repairs too. How money works: Money.
Tips
- Repair your gear before a Dungeon and before a Zone Boss.
- A losing streak is a sign to go back to an easier zone: the enemies are too strong, and repairs get pricier as your items’ level grows.
