Item rarities: from grey to turquoise

Zarhold’s seven item rarities: colour, stat strength and where each one drops — from grey trophies to turquoise unique items.

Every item has a rarity — you can tell it by the colour of its frame and name. The higher the rarity, the more stats an item of the same level and slot has.

Seven rarities

“Strength vs blue” is how many times more stats an item has than a blue item of the same level and slot. Heirloom and unique items work their own way: Heirloom items, Legendary and unique items.

Where each rarity drops

  • Open world. A regular enemy: grey 18%, green 2.5%, blue 0.6% per fight. Epics come only from elites and Zone Bosses of level 20+, legendaries from Zone Bosses of level 30+. Details: Open-world loot.
  • Quests. Every Zone Boss quest and roughly every third of the rest gives an item: Quests.
  • Dungeons. Bosses never drop grey. From level 30 bosses give only blue and epic items, from level 55 at least one epic. Waves occasionally drop green and blue items.
  • Raids and World bosses. Epic and legendary only: Raids and world bosses.
  • PvP shop. Rare and epic items with Resilience — for arena points and honor: PvP shop.

Rarity and item level

Rarity also sets “Item Level” — the number in an item’s tooltip and in the Armory: at level 60 a blue item is 187, an epic 200, and every legendary is 280. Epics from raids and world bosses are 226, blues from level 60 dungeon bosses are 200. Your hero’s average item level is made of these numbers.
