Tips for new players

Practical tips for new Zarhold players: how to play your cards, level without wasted fights, keep gear repaired, learn professions and save gold.

Fifteen tips that save time in your first days. Each one is based on how the game actually works.

In combat

  1. Swap weak opening cards. You can replace any of them, even your whole hand. The only exception is duels — no swaps there.
  2. Spend your crystals every turn. Unspent crystals are lost; you can't save them up.
  3. Don't forget your Class Power. It costs just 1 crystal and works every turn.
  4. Carry a bandage. Bandages work everywhere, even in the arena. You get one consumable of each kind per fight.
  5. Eat before heading out. Food gives the Well Fed buff for 15 minutes or 3 fights with creatures. More in Consumables in combat.

In the world

  1. Take every quest in a land at once. The “defeat” and “collect” quests use the same enemies.
  2. Skip grey enemies. They give no experience, and skull enemies can't be attacked at all.
  3. Switch targets if you're saving copper. Beating the same enemy again pays less copper: ×0.8 per repeat, down to ×0.25.
  4. Run a dungeon once a day. Your first run in 24 hours gives full experience.

Gear and money

  1. Watch your durability. Items have 30 durability, every defeat against creatures takes 1, and at zero an item stops giving stats. Use “Repair All” at the Shop. More in Durability and repairs.
  2. Don't rush to sell good items to the Merchant. On the Auction House a listing can't be priced below what the Merchant pays. More in Auction House.
  3. Materials don't take up your bag. They go into your Pouch by themselves — separate slots for stacks: one slot per kind of item, 50 from the start and expandable to 150. Your bag stays free for gear — Pouch.

Professions, talents and people

  1. Learn professions right away. They're free with no level requirement, and gathering spots only appear on a land's map once you've learned the profession. Tailors: cloth drops only from humanoids — Where to get linen.
  2. Experiment with talents. Resets are free.
  3. Don't play alone. You can found a guild for free or join an existing one — Guilds. The arena is open from level 1, and until you reach level 60 or pass 1,000 rating, world-resident opponents come in ordinary gear — Arena for beginners.

One more bonus — every day the Battle Pass offers three tasks worth 40 points each: Battle Pass tasks.
