Arena for newcomers: help before level 60
Who gets arena relief (level 1–59, mode rating up to 1,000) and what is softened: opponents never above your level, residents in ordinary PvE gear.
While you are learning PvP, the arena picks gentler opponents for you. The relief applies in every format — 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 5v5 and the battleground, in manual fights and auto-battles.
Who qualifies
Both conditions must hold:
- your hero is level 1–59;
- your rating in that mode is 1,000 or less.
Each mode has its own rating, so you may already have outgrown the relief in 1v1 while still getting it in 3v3. There is no relief at level 60.
In a team fight the game looks at the most experienced live player: if anyone has a mode rating above 1,000 or is level 60, there is no relief for the whole fight.
What is softened
Gear of resident opponents
World residents who face a newcomer are geared like an average player of their level: ordinary PvE items no better than blue quality, without a PvP set. A PvP item gives 1.4 times more Health than a regular one, so such an opponent is noticeably softer.
Opponent level
| Fight | Opponent |
|---|---|
| 1v1, world resident | from your level −3 up to your level |
| 1v1, player's hero | from your level −6 up to your level |
| 2v2, 3v3, 5v5, battleground | residents no higher than the highest-level live player |
Your opponent is never above your level.
What stays the same
Talents, cards, damage and healing over time, combos — everything works exactly as for everyone else, identically in PvE and PvP. Rewards and rating for the fight are normal.
Tips for newcomers
- Raising your rating in one mode keeps the relief in all the others.
- Visit the PvP shop: it has gear from level 1 — see Arena Points and Honor.
