Bags and inventory space
How much room your bag has: 50 slots plus 5 bag slots. The vendor’s satchel, bag and knapsack, what happens when it overflows and why bags can’t be traded.
Your Bag (the B key) holds items — above all, gear. Materials and consumables live separately — in the Pouch.
How much room
- 50 slots to begin with.
- Plus 5 bag slots: every bag you put in adds its own slots.
The vendor sells three bags:
| Bag | Slots | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Linen Satchel | 8 | 5 silver |
| Traveler's Bag | 10 | 25 silver |
| Runic Knapsack | 12 | 1 gold 20 silver |
With five knapsacks you have 110 slots. Players usually start with satchels and swap them for knapsacks over time.
Putting a bag in and taking it out
- A purchased bag sits in your bag as an item — place it into a free bag slot to get more space.
- You can only take a bag out if everything still fits afterwards; otherwise the game tells you the bag is full.
Selling and trading
- The vendor buys a bag for its price divided by 2.5: the Runic Knapsack sells for 48 silver.
- Bags can't be given to another player, listed on the auction house or disenchanted.
When the bag overflows
Items are never thrown away. If loot arrives in a full bag, the extra goes into a buffer and the game warns you to make room. Free up space within 7 days and the items return to your bag. If you don't, they arrive by mail as "Items from your overflowing bag", and that letter never expires. Quest items and heirloom items are never mailed — they wait in the bag.
How to free up space
- Sell grey items and junk in one go with the "Sell junk" button on the Character sheet; it never touches materials in your pouch. Sell anything else you don't need to the vendor.
- List valuable items on the auction house.
- Save gear for different activities as equipment sets and don't carry the rest.
