Playing on phone and tablet

Zarhold opens right in the browser — on a computer, phone or tablet. There is nothing to download, and everything in the game is available on a phone too.

Home screen shortcut

To open the game from its own icon in full screen, without the address bar, add it as a shortcut. Add it from the game page itself, not from the website's home page — otherwise the shortcut will open the website.

• iPhone and iPad, Safari: Share → Add to Home Screen → Add.
• Android, Chrome: the game offers an "Install full screen" strip itself; if you closed it, use the ⋮ menu → Install app or Add to Home screen.
• Computer, Chrome or Edge: the install icon on the right of the address bar — the game then opens in its own window.

One account

Your hero, items, gold, rating and mail are stored on the server, not on the phone. Log in on a new device the same way as before and you get the same hero.

You can't play on two devices at once: logging in on a new one closes the game on the old one, and your progress is kept.

Hotkeys are stored on your account, while Enlarge interface is set separately on each device.

How the phone differs

• The game is played in landscape: the battle board needs width, and the game asks you to rotate the screen.
• There are no hotkeys — everything is tapped; hotkey settings only appear if the device has a keyboard.
• Item comparison works on hover on a computer and as a table on a phone — see Item comparison.
• Enlarge interface goes up to 110% on tall phones (19.5:9 and 18:9); on 16:9 phones there is no room to enlarge.

FAQ

Do I need to download an app?

No. The game runs in the browser; the shortcut is just a handy icon that opens it in full screen.
