Zarhold — the floating city of level 60 heroes

How to reach Zarhold at level 60, what the capital’s eleven quarters hold, and how the city changes by day, evening and night.

What Zarhold is

Zarhold is the capital of level 60 heroes, the “floating city”. The fortress city stands on a rock that rose from the bed of the Middle Lake and hangs above its centre: water still pours off its rim in waterfalls, and small islets on bridges — a gryphon tower, a bell tower and gardens — circle the main rock.

The city is always visible on the world map — the largest, brightest spot in the middle of the continent. Below level 60 the “Zarhold” pin is grey and says “from level 60”: it is a goal to level towards.

How to get there

  • Only from level 60 and only by flight. Open the world map, tap the “Zarhold” pin — the city card opens — and press “Fly to Zarhold”.
  • From level 60 the world map has a “⟲ To Zarhold” (Rune of the Hall) button — the same flight in one tap.
  • The flight follows the same rules as between lands: flight time depends on distance, and the server keeps track of your flights.
  • To leave, fly from the world map to any land. While you are in the capital, the lands’ foe boards and gathering nodes are hidden: fighting and gathering happen in the lands.

A hero who reaches level 60 receives a letter from the Herald of Zarhold — an invitation to the city.

The city screen

The capital screen works like a land screen, but instead of foes it has quarter medallions on their buildings. Tap a medallion to open the quarter’s scene: a steward on the left, window tiles on the right.

The “☰” menu stays as it was: in the capital the same windows simply get a second, living entrance.

At the bottom centre is “In Zarhold” — how many heroes are in the city now; tap it for the list. At the bottom right is the Herald, the world’s news feed.

Day, evening and night

The city lives on Moscow time: by day (7–18) the sun shines, in the evening and at dawn (18–22, 5–7) the lanterns burn at sunset, at night (22–5) there are stars, two moons, lit windows, and a goblin cart appears by the Market Row — the Night Market.

The city changes with the world

Signs of the world’s milestones appear on the buildings by themselves: a trophy over the Tourney Grounds for the first heroic clear of the Temple of An-Kevash, stars on the Archive dome — one for every thousand level 60 heroes, the crests of the first guilds to clear heroic raids by the Guild Halls, flags in the colour of the side that won the Court of Three Banners, and the guild of the week’s crest on the Great Hall’s tower.
