How to make gold
Every way to earn in Zarhold: copper from enemies and quests, dungeons, the Merchant, the Auction House and crafts, duel stakes — with numbers from the game.
Gold in Zarhold comes from fights, quests and trading with other players. Here is every way to earn — and how to get more out of each.
1. Open-world enemies
Every win gives copper. A regular enemy of your level gives about 3 copper at level 1, 1 silver at level 20 and 75 silver at level 60 (±15%).
- packs ×1.5, elites ×3, land bosses ×6;
- an enemy that's green for you gives 60% of the copper, a grey one 35%;
- the more often you fight at the same spot, the less copper it gives: −20% per repeat, but never below a quarter. Switch spots and lands.
2. Quests
All 312 quests are one-time and pay copper on top of experience: from ~8 copper at level 1 to a few gold near level 60. "Collect" quests pay ×1.2, "deliver" quests ×1.3 and land boss quests ×3.5. Hand in everything you take.
3. Dungeons and raids
Everyone in the group gets the full copper reward for a clear, with no splitting. The first clear in a window pays 100%, the second 50%, after that nothing. The window: a dungeon or world boss — 24 hours, a raid — 7 days. More in Repeat rewards.
4. The Merchant
Whatever you don't wear and can't sell to players, sell to the Merchant: an epic level-60 item fetches 2 gold, a legendary one 5. Grey junk goes with one "Sell Junk" button.
5. Auction House: materials and crafts
Other players are where the real money is.
- Materials. Ore, herbs, hides, fish, Linen Cloth, dust and essences are what crafters need; a stack of up to 1,000 goes as one lot. Check "Sold this week" to price at the market rate.
- Products. Potions, bandages, enchantment scrolls, tempers and gear — things others can't make themselves. Potions and bombs only work against monsters; bandages work in PvP too.
- Rare goods. Radiant Shards, Nexus Crystals and recipe scrolls from bosses.
Which crafts supply each other is in Which professions to pick. The 5% fee and the deposit are covered in Auction House.
6. Duel stakes
In a live duel you can stake up to 100 gold and up to 3 items; the winner takes the pot, with 5% taken from the gold. It's a risk, not an income: lose and your stake is gone. The rules are in Duel stakes.
7. Battle Pass
The free track of the pass gives 65 gold over 50 levels.
Achievements don't give gold.
