FAQ: combat
How many crystals do I get per turn?
1 on your first turn, then one more each turn, up to 10. Crystals refill completely at the start of your turn, and unspent ones are lost — you can't save them. Whoever goes second gets +1 once, on their first turn. More in How combat works.
How many cards are in my hand?
6 at the start of a fight. You draw 1 card at the start of each of your turns — except whoever goes first, who doesn't draw on their first turn. There's no hand limit.
Can I swap my opening cards?
Yes, any of them — even your whole hand. The exception is duels, where there are no swaps.
What happens when my deck runs out?
In fights against creatures your discard pile is shuffled back in. In PvP you take fatigue: 1, 2, 3 and more damage for each card you can't draw. More in Deck.
How does Class Power work?
It costs 1 crystal and can be used once per turn with the E key. Your specialisation decides what it does, and until level 10 every Class Power attacks. It grows stronger with your Power. More in Class Power and racial ability.
Are there critical hits?
No, Zarhold has no crits. A card's strength = base + Power × (cost / 5) to the power of 1.2: the more expensive the card, the more it gains from Power.
How long is a turn?
60 seconds. If you do nothing, your next turns get shorter — 45, then 30 seconds — and then you lose for inactivity.
FAQ: your hero
What is Power?
Your main stat: it adds to damage, healing and shields. There's also Health, Resilience (defence in PvP only) and Hardiness (defence against creatures only). More in Stats.
How much defence do Resilience and Hardiness give?
1% for every 6 points up to 210 points, which is 35%. Beyond that it grows half as fast, capped at 54%.
When do talents unlock, and what does a reset cost?
From level 10, one point per level — 51 by level 60. Resets are free, and from level 20 you can keep two specialisations. More in How talents work.
Why does my item give no stats?
It ran out of durability. Every item has 30 durability, and each defeat against creatures takes 1 from everything you're wearing. Repair it at the Shop: each point costs (the item's level × 6 + 20) copper — the level the item was made for, not its “Item Level”. More in Durability and repairs.
Why can't I equip an item?
Either its level is higher than yours, or it's armour heavier than your class wears: a class wears its own armour type and anything lighter. More in Equipment and slots.
