Class Power and Racial ability
Two buttons besides cards: Class Power (E), 1 Crystal once per turn, follows your spec; the Racial ability (Q) differs in PvE and PvP and has a cooldown.
Besides your cards, your hero has two buttons in combat: the Class Power (E key) and the Racial ability (Q key). Both cost Crystals and don't end your turn — you can use them alongside your cards.
Class Power
- Costs 1 Crystal and can be used once per turn.
- Which power you get is decided by your specialisation: the talent tree with the most points in it, or the one you picked with the "Activate" button.
- Tank specialisations get Taunt, healing specialisations a healing power, the rest an attacking one.
- Until level 10, before you have talents, everyone's power attacks.
- Its number grows with Power: base + 0.2 × Power, with a weight of its own for each power.
- A healing power can be aimed at an ally — drag it onto their portrait. On the keyboard: Shift+E uses it on yourself (or on the ally picked with F2…F5 in a group fight); if the power can both hit and heal, plain E hits the selected enemy.
The attacking powers of the Barbarian, Ranger and Rogue also apply Deep Wound: for 2 turns the target receives half the healing.
All powers by specialisation are in the Class Power reference, and how to choose a specialisation is in Specialisations and loadouts.
Racial ability
- Every race has two: one for fights against creatures ("in the field") and one against players ("in the arena" — arena, battlegrounds, duels). In a fight you only see the one that fits.
- Costs 1–3 Crystals, then goes on a 3–5 turn cooldown.
- A racial's damage, healing and shields also grow with Power, but it's always weaker than your Class Power.
- Shift+Q only matters for the Vaerin's Adaptation, where you pick the target: Q aims it at an enemy (+25% damage), Shift+Q at yourself (+25% healing received). For every other racial Shift+Q does the same as Q.
What each one does — see Racial abilities.
FAQ
Why did my Class Power change?
You redistributed your talents and a different tree became your main one: the Class Power always follows your specialisation. To lock in the tree you want, press "Activate" in its header on the talent screen.
Can I use my Class Power twice in one turn?
No — once per turn, even if you have Crystals left. Your Racial ability is limited by its cooldown.
