How talents work

Talents from level 10: 51 points by level 60, a new row for every 5 points in a tree, the top talent at 20. Spend points freely in any tree; resets are free.

Talents unlock at level 10: every level gives one point, adding up to 51 by level 60. You spend them across your class's three trees — freely, in any combination — and resets are always free.

Points and rows

  • The first point comes at level 10, then one per level: 11 at level 20, 51 at level 60.
  • Every class has 3 trees, and talents in a tree are arranged in rows.
  • The next row opens for every 5 points you put into that tree: the second after 5, the third after 10, and so on.
  • Some talents have a requirement: first max out another talent in the same tree.
  • The top of a tree — its final talent — opens at 20 points in that tree, 15 for the Lightbringer.

Every class's trees are in the Talent trees reference; in the game, press N.

Spend freely across trees

There are no limits between trees: you can put 20 points into one and spread the rest across the other two. If you've read that other trees stay locked until you learn the top of your first one — that rule has been removed.

One limit remains: only one top talent per loadout. You can take another in your second specialisation.

You can't learn everything at once: almost every class has more ranks across its trees than 51 points — you'll have to choose.

What talents give

  • bonuses to Health, Power and defence;
  • boosts to specific cards and discounts on their cost — the discount comes with the last ranks, and a paid card never drops below 1 Crystal;
  • new cards for your deck — each class has 0 to 6 such talents (see Your deck);
  • effects that trigger in combat.

There are no empty ranks: if a rank adds nothing over the previous one, it gives +1% Power instead. Talents work the same against creatures and in PvP.

The tree with the most points becomes your specialisation and decides your Class Power — see Specialisations and loadouts.

Resetting

Talent resets are free — the "Reset" button on the talent screen. Experiment freely: if you don't like a build, rebuild it.

FAQ

Where do I put points after the top talent?

Into any talents in other trees — there are no limits. You just can't take the top talent of a second tree in the same loadout.

Why do I have fewer points than my level?

Points start at level 10: at level L you have L − 9.
