How to farm gold in an MMORPG with no bots or tricks: enemies, quests, dungeons, the vendor, the auction house and crafting — what pays most in Zarhold.

Gold in an MMORPG means potions before a raid, repairs, auction house gear and recipes for your profession. Everyone asks “how do I farm gold”, from newcomers to level 60 heroes. The good news: in Zarhold, a card MMORPG in your browser, there are several honest ways to earn, and each suits a different play style. Let’s go through all seven — from the simplest to the most profitable.

1. Enemies in the world

Every victory over an enemy gives copper. The higher the enemy’s level, the more money, and packs, elites and land bosses pay noticeably more than a normal enemy. Two things worth knowing:

  • enemies weaker than you (green or grey) pay less — fight enemies of your level;
  • if you keep fighting at the same spot, the reward drops with each repeat (but not below a quarter). Change spots and lands — you’ll get more money and more XP.

World fights are the foundation: gold piles up on its own while you level.

2. Quests

Zarhold has 312 quests, all one-time. Each pays copper on top of XP, and gathering, delivery and especially land-boss quests pay more than ordinary ones. Simple advice: turn in everything you take, and grab all of a land’s quests at once — they are done in a single trip. How quests work: Quests.

3. Dungeons and raids

Everyone in the party gets the full copper for a clear — no splitting. In dungeons the first clear before the daily reset at 03:00 Moscow time pays 100%, the second 50%, then nothing. In raids and at world bosses money comes for each boss you had loot from that day. So clearing different dungeons beats running one three times. More in Repeat rewards.

4. The vendor

Anything you don’t wear and won’t sell to players goes to the vendor. A level 60 epic is 2 gold, a legendary 5, and grey junk goes with one “Sell Junk” button. Small but steady income after every run. Sold something by mistake? You can buy it back: Vendor buyback.

5. The auction house: materials

The most money is made from other players. Ore, herbs, hides, fish, cloth, dust and essences are what crafters need, and an auction lot is a whole stack of up to 20. Before selling, check “Sold this week” and price by the market. Gathering professions — herbalism, mining, skinning, fishing — turn every trip into the world into goods. 6. Crafting: goods for sale

Even better than raw materials is selling what is made from them: potions, bandages, enchant scrolls, sharpening stones and gear — anything others can’t make themselves. Potions and bombs work against monsters and in duels, bandages in other PvP too, so there is always demand. Crafted gear sells until someone puts it on. And rare things — radiant shards, Nexus Crystals, recipe scrolls from bosses — fetch the highest prices.

7. The battle pass

The free track of the Path of the Hall gives gold for pass levels, and after level 100 a little more in every Beyond-the-Path chest. Pass levels come from normal play, so this gold arrives “on the way”. More in MMORPG battle pass.

What about duel stakes?

In a live duel you can stake gold and items, and the winner takes the pot (a small share of the gold is kept). But that is a risk, not income: lose and you lose your stake. Play for stakes for the thrill, not the profit. The rules: Duels in an MMORPG.

What pays the most

  1. At the start — quests and enemies of your level: money comes along with XP.
  2. From the second or third land — a gathering profession and selling materials on the auction house.
  3. Closer to 60 — crafting: goods everyone needs before a raid.
  4. At 60 — daily dungeons and raids, selling unneeded loot to the vendor and rare materials from bosses.

Gold FAQ

How can a newcomer make gold fast?

Turn in every quest, fight enemies of your level and pick up a gathering profession: materials sell on the auction house from the first levels.

Is it better to sell to the vendor or on the auction house?

Almost everything sells better on the auction house if there is demand. Give the vendor what doesn’t sell: junk and spare items that are already bound to you.

Do achievements give gold?

No. Achievements give titles, appearances and glory; gold comes from fights, quests, trading and the battle pass.

Can I sell an item I’ve already worn?

Gear of green quality and above becomes personal once worn: it can’t go on the auction house, only to the vendor. So sell crafted gear before trying it on. More in Personal items.

The bottom line

Honest gold in Zarhold comes from seven sources: enemies, quests, dungeons, the vendor, materials on the auction house, crafting and the battle pass. Quests and gathering for newcomers, crafting and rare materials for veterans, and duel stakes just for the thrill. Every method with numbers is in the knowledge base: How to make gold.
