MMORPG battle pass: how the 100-level Path of the Hall works

The Path of the Hall battle pass in a browser MMORPG: 100 levels, where to get points, the free and premium rows, the Tailwind and rewards past level 100.
The battle pass is a familiar part of online games: complete tasks, collect points, unlock levels and claim rewards. Usually the pass has a short season, and everything useful sits in the paid part. In Zarhold, a card MMORPG in your browser, the pass works differently. It is called the Path of the Hall: 100 levels, no "expires next month", and everything combat-related — gear and cards — sits in the free row. Here is how it works and how to get through it faster.
What the Path of the Hall is
- 100 levels in five chapters of 20 levels each: the Foothills, the River Crossing, the Pine Pass, the Cloud Steps and the Gates of the Hall.
- Two reward rows: every level has a free-row reward and a premium-row reward.
- One Path per account: all your heroes earn points for it, and any of them can complete Path tasks.
- No season timer: there is no deadline to "make it" by. Play every day and you get through faster, once a week and it takes longer, but you lose nothing. When the new world opens, the Path will start over there — the Updates say so.
Open the Path with the Battle Pass button in the game; the full reference is in the knowledge base: Battle Pass “Path of the Hall”. The screen needs no scrolling: the reward showcase is on the left, the chapter's golden road on the right, the premium row on top and the free row below.
Where points come from
Levels grow from Path points — a separate scale, not your hero's experience. Going from level L to the next costs 350 + 3 × (L − 1) points: 350 from level 1 to 2, 644 from 99 to 100. Reaching level 100 takes 49,203 points in total.
The main sources:
- Path tasks — 3 daily tasks worth 40 points, 6 weekly worth 130 and 3 monthly worth 1,000. Complete one and claim it, and a new task of the same rhythm takes its place right away. Don't like a task? Replace it: free once a day for daily tasks and twice a week for weekly ones, then 50 silver per reroll. The kinds of tasks are listed in the knowledge base: Pass tasks.
- Wins in the world: a regular enemy gives 1 point, a pack 2, an elite 4, a land boss 12, plus 0.15 for every level of the enemy. For example, a level 30 regular enemy gives 6 points and a level 30 land boss 17.
- Turned-in world quests — 6 points each.
The Path is paced at about 4,000 points a week: at that pace level 100 takes 12–13 weeks.
The Tailwind and Double Points
If you fall 1,000 points or more behind the pace, once a week you can claim the Tailwind: a boost of half the points you earned over the last seven days (from 50 to 2,000). That way players who don't log in every day can still catch up.
Double Points are days when Path tasks give twice as much. They are announced in advance in the Updates and on the Path screen — the first are set for the weekend of October 24 and 25.
The free row: everything combat-related
The free row is open to everyone. It holds gold, consumables, cosmetics, titles — and the entire combat side of the Path:
- level 30 — the epic battle card Wanderer's Cry;
- level 55 — the epic Wanderer's Ring;
- level 80 — the epic card Deepcall;
- level 85 — the legendary Medallion of Zarhold;
- level 90 — the legendary card Seal of Zarhold;
- level 100 — the Dawn Gryphon mount: flights across the world map three times faster.
Gear and battle cards unlock only with levels earned in play. Their tiles carry a "⚔ by play" badge: bought levels don't unlock them. So the pass can't buy an edge in battle — everyone's Path cards and gear were earned by playing.
The premium row, honestly
The premium row adds a second reward to every level. It opens with a one-time premium purchase that lasts forever, and Path levels can also be bought in the Shop (bought levels unlock cosmetics, gold and consumables, but not gear or battle cards). The premium row holds:
- cosmetics: battle boards, card backs, frames and avatars, living portraits at levels 25, 50 and 100, and the living board Gates of the Hall at Dawn at level 100;
- heirloom items — 6 right away with premium and 10 more along the row, all by level 46. Each is made for the class of the hero who claims it and grows with that hero, speeding up levelling; how they work: Heirloom items;
- chat adornments: living stickers and the Waymark name seal;
- a mount — the Bone Steed at level 75.
The premium row has none of the free row's battle cards or gear. Anything you already received in the old pass (the same item, cosmetic, card or mount) isn't granted twice — the tile says "received".
Path titles
- level 10 — Walker of the Path (free row);
- level 20 — Warden of the Path (premium);
- level 40 — Pilgrim of the Hall (free);
- level 75 — Rider of the Path (premium);
- level 80 — Bannerbearer of the Hall (premium);
- level 100 — Conqueror of the Path (free).
A title comes with the level's reward and is at once available to every hero on the account. All rewards by level are in the Pass rewards reference.
Beyond level 100
Points keep adding up: every 2,500 points open a Beyond-the-Path chest — gold and a consumable in the free row, more in the premium chest. The 10th free chest brings the title Eternal Wanderer. So reaching level 100 isn't the end: the Path keeps rewarding you for playing.
How to get through the Path faster
- Daily tasks every day. Three tasks worth 40 points each, and every completed one is replaced by a new one, so you can do more than three a day.
- Don't hoard rerolls. Swap a slow task right away — the free reroll comes back every day.
- Weekly and monthly tasks happen in the background. Ordinary play counts towards them: wins, land bosses, quests, gathering, PvP.
- Play any hero. The Path is shared across the account, so a second hero earns points too.
- Claim the Tailwind if you missed a few days.
If you are just starting, the beginner's guide will help, and Path levels and play in general also earn achievements.
Path of the Hall FAQ
Is the battle pass free?
Yes: the free row is open to everyone, and it holds the whole combat side of the Path — gear, battle cards and the Dawn Gryphon mount. The premium row with cosmetics, heirlooms and chat adornments is bought separately.
Will my levels expire if I don't finish in time?
No: the Path has no season deadline, and your levels and points stay. When the new world opens, the Path will start over there.
Can I buy Path levels?
Yes, but bought levels only unlock cosmetics, gold and consumables. The free row's gear and battle cards unlock only with levels earned in play.
How long does it take to reach level 100?
At about 4,000 points a week, roughly 12–13 weeks. If you play less often, the Tailwind helps: once a week, a boost of half the points from the last seven days.
What happened to the old 50-level pass?
Your level is kept and your points count towards the new Path. Rewards of the old 50 levels that you unlocked but didn't claim wait in the Beta rewards window on the Path screen — until the new world.
Do all my heroes earn points?
Yes. There is one Path per account, and Path tasks are shared too: any hero can complete them.
