Daily, weekly and monthly events in a browser MMORPG: errands, Lucky Hour, Battle of the Day, Wanted, the Invasion, the Fair — and what they reward.

A good MMORPG doesn’t live on raids alone: it has a rhythm — something happens today, something this week, something once a month. In Zarhold, a card MMORPG you play in your browser, that rhythm comes from errands and mini-events: Lucky Hour, Battle of the Day, Wanted, Tavern Spread, the Invasion, the Fair and more. Here’s the whole calendar: what runs every day, every week and every month, what it rewards, and why missing a day is no big deal.

The “do no harm” rules

Before the calendar, here are the six rules every Zarhold event follows:

  • The server keeps score. Only what the server saw counts: a win checked by a fight replay, a finished expedition, an arena match. A tampered client gets nothing.
  • No power. Rewards are looks, titles and Marks of Distinction. No event makes your hero stronger in combat.
  • No chores. Miss a day and you lose nothing.
  • Thresholds, not rankings. Everyone who reaches a threshold gets the reward; being first only brings glory.
  • One account, one reward. World residents don’t take part in event tables.
  • No lotteries. You see the reward up front.

Where to follow it all: the Events tab of the Errand Journal, the ☠ and 🔥 marks on the world map, the “[Herald]” lines in World chat (no more than five a day), and on the website — the Zarhold Events page with the Invasion’s world tally, the Battle of the Day puzzle and the week’s wanted foes.

Errands: tasks for the day, week and month

Errands are the lands’ repeatable tasks — the familiar “dailies”. Every errand you turn in also counts as a quest.

Below level 60

  • Daily errands — 3. On the world map a blue “!” lights up by three lands of your level (±3). You can take and turn them in with the land’s herald or straight from the map.
  • Weekly errand — 1. It’s given by the outpost commander in a land of your level band: clear a dungeon, defeat the land’s boss or turn in 10 errands in a week.
  • The Wayfarer’s Deed — for the month. Four stages, and the reward is a rare epic for your level.

At level 60 — the Errand Board

At the foot of the Great Hall’s stairs in the capital stands Quartermaster Yaromir’s Errand Board: six “tables” a day (you take any four), four big errands a week (you take two) and the Deed of the Hall for the month. The tables cover different things — expeditions, dungeons, the world, the arena, crafting, groups — so a PvE fan can fill four errands without PvP, and a PvP fan without raids. Instead of experience, level 60 errands give Forge Shards — about 75 a week if you do everything; that’s the currency for Tier 1 class sets (more in “Tier sets in an MMORPG”).

Rewards and rules

  • Experience — the same as a regular quest of your level: daily ×1, weekly ×2, the monthly deed ×3.
  • A reward of your choice for daily and weekly errands: gold, an item (weekly — a blue one for your hero’s weakest slot) or a stack of reagents for your profession.
  • Resets: daily errands at 03:00 Moscow time, weekly on Monday, monthly on the 1st.
  • No hoarding: anything unfinished at reset is cancelled automatically, and anything finished but not turned in arrives by mail — the reward isn’t lost.
  • Swaps: one free swap a day (and one a week for the weekly errand), after that for silver.
  • The Wayfarer’s Chronicle: turn in 10, 25 and 40 errands a month with any heroes on your account for 15, 15 and 30 Marks of Distinction.

One important detail: there’s a limited number of errands per day, so they don’t replace levelling. According to the developers’ simulation, errands give someone who plays an hour a day about 13% of their experience, and someone who plays ten hours about 2%. They help most those who drop in for a short while.

The mini-event calendar

  • Every day: Lucky Hour, Trial of the Day, Battle of the Day.
  • Every week (from Monday 03:00 Moscow time): Wanted, Order of the Week, Tavern Spread, Guild Coffer, Angler of the Week, Mentor.
  • The first weekend of the month: the Fair.
  • The third weekend of the month: the Invasion.
  • All month: the Trial of the Month.
  • For newcomers: First Steps.

Daily events

Lucky Hour

Every day at 03:00 Moscow time a lucky hour is announced: one hour on weekdays, two on weekends, starting between 12:00 and 22:00 Moscow time. During it, fights and expeditions give +25% experience to heroes below level 60, and everyone’s profession skill rises almost twice as often. Since a recent update that covers not just crafting but gathering, skinning, fishing and disenchanting too. You don’t need to do anything special — just play while the ✦ badge with its timer is up. How to make the most of it is covered in “Profession levelling”.

Trial of the Day

One unusual battle condition for everyone — in the open world, against a foe of your level or higher. Meet it for 10 Marks of Distinction (once a day per account). Examples: Miser Knight — win playing no more than two cards; By a Hair — win with less than 10% Health; Blitz — win in 4 of your turns; Pacifist — deal no damage in your first 3 turns. If the condition doesn’t suit your class, you get one free swap a day.

Battle of the Day

The puzzle of the day, the same for everyone — and here a level 5 hero and a level 60 hero are equals. You get a ready-made level 30 hero (the class of the day, with an average player’s gear, talents and deck) and the same foe as everyone else. The goal is to win as fast as you can:

  • a win — 3 marks;
  • no slower than the AI autobattle — 5 marks;
  • at least one turn faster than the AI — 8 marks and the title Tactician of the Day.

You get 30 attempts a day, and your best result counts. The server replays the fight from your turn log itself. You can play from the journal, and at level 60 also at the Tavern table in the capital.

Weekly events

Wanted ☠

Each level band — 10–29, 30–49 and 50–60 — has its own wanted foe of the week with a name, portrait and deck of its own: Vartan the Lame, Bandit; Woodlouse, the Bog Witch; Orrik the Exiled Demon; Stonebreaker the Golem; Xar the Ash Drake; Ivenna, Mistress of the Undead. It roams every land of its band — look for the ☠ tile at the top of a land of your level. It fights one on one, as strong as the land’s boss.

The rule is simple: one win a week per hero. Beat it and the wanted foe is “Caught” for that hero, its tile greyed out with a seal until the new week. A win brings experience and loot like an elite, plus 20 Marks of Distinction (once a week per account). The Herald names the first three in each band in World chat.

Order of the Week

The crafters’ guild asks for three kinds of goods — bandages, dishes, potions, bars, cured leather. Hand in 5, 15 and 30 items for 5, 10 and 15 marks; if the world hands in 2,000, every participant gets 5 more. Whoever hands in the most earns the title Master of the Week. You can make the goods yourself or buy them at the auction house.

Tavern Spread 🍺

A card game at the Tavern table against one of ten regulars — each with a class and a deck of their own. You pick a class and sit down as a ready-made level 30 hero, so your level and gear don’t decide anything. Every week brings a new rule, and it applies to both of you:

  • Short Fuse — everyone has half the Health;
  • Cheap Ale — decks hold only cards up to 3 crystals;
  • Mirror — the regular plays your class with the same deck;
  • Long Night — everyone has double the Health;
  • Drawing Lots — classes are random;
  • Red Suit — damage cards only;
  • Shuffled Up — decks are built at random;
  • Old Guard — everyone at the table is a level 60 hero.

Three wins a week give 15 marks, and five such weeks earn the title Tavern Regular. Up to 10 games a day, by hand or on autobattle; leave the board mid-game and it counts as a loss.

Guild, angler and mentor

  • Guild Coffer — your guild gathers points for what the server counted: trials, wanted foes, expeditions, wins over live players, orders. Open the coffer and everyone who added 3 points or more gets 15 marks. How to find a guild is covered in “Guilds in an MMORPG”.
  • Angler of the Week — the server “weighs” every fish. Catch one heavier than the trophy mark for 10 marks; the heaviest fish of the week earns the title Angler of the Week.
  • Mentor — clear a dungeon in a live group with someone going there for the first time who is 5 or more levels below you. The mentor gets 10 marks per pupil (up to three a week), the pupil gets 10.

Monthly events

The Invasion 🔥

On the third weekend of the month — from Friday 18:00 to Monday 03:00 Moscow time — the Ashen Legion marches into every land. Each land gets a legion squad of three demons marked 🔥: imp scouts in low lands, fel legionnaires in middle ones and punisher demons in high ones. Only wins over them count toward the world tally:

  • world stages at 25, 50, 75 and 100%: everyone with 10 or more wins collects 10, 10, 15 and 25 marks;
  • 30 wins — the Ashen Legion Repelled frame;
  • 100 wins — the title Defender of Zarhold.

While the Invasion is on, a bar at the top shows the world tally, the stages and your contribution. A squad that’s grey for you doesn’t count, and an account can add no more than 300 wins a day. The live tally is on the Zarhold Events page.

The Fair and the Marks shop

The Marks shop is always open: it’s the Marks shop tab of the Errand Journal. On the first weekend of the month a fair comes to the capital’s square with special looks that are sold only there.

Trial of the Month and First Steps

  • Trial of the Month — one unusual condition for the whole month: the Dandy (wins with everything you wear of one quality), the Ragamuffin (wins over elites in white and grey gear), Land Expert (wins in 10 different lands) or Master of All Schools (wins over live players of five different classes). The reward is 40 marks.
  • First Steps — twelve steps for a new account at levels 1–20: from your first win to your first dungeon and level 20. Complete them all for the title Recruit and 30 marks. Where to start is covered in the beginner’s guide.

Marks of Distinction: what to spend them on

Marks of Distinction are a single cosmetic currency for your whole account. They can’t be traded, sold or listed on the auction house, and they can’t buy power. In the Marks shop you’ll find, for example:

  • the title Guest of the Fair — 150 marks;
  • the Bronze Wreath frame — 450;
  • the Herald avatar and the Fair Square battlefield — 600 each;
  • the Heraldic Gryphon mount — three times faster flights and a Skip button — 2,500;
  • the title Noble Guest of Zarhold — 2,500.

A title goes to the hero who bought it, while looks and the mount go to the whole account. Prices are shown up front — no chests, no lotteries.

Events and errands FAQ

What happens if I miss a day or a week?

Nothing bad: events don’t punish you for missing them. Unfinished errands are cancelled automatically at the reset, and finished ones you didn’t turn in arrive by mail.

When do errands reset?

Daily errands every day at 03:00 Moscow time, weekly ones on Monday at 03:00, monthly ones on the 1st at 03:00.

Can I beat a wanted foe more than once?

No: one win a week per hero. After that the wanted foe is “Caught” for that hero until Monday 03:00 Moscow time, and the 20 marks go to your account once a week.

When does the Invasion run?

On the third weekend of the month — from Friday 18:00 to Monday 03:00 Moscow time. Only wins over legion squads marked 🔥 count toward the world tally.

Do events give a combat advantage?

No. Event rewards are looks, titles and Marks of Distinction. Marks are spent only on looks, and they can’t buy power.

The bottom line

Errands and mini-events keep Zarhold’s world alive every day: errands in the morning, Lucky Hour in the afternoon, Battle of the Day or a game at the tavern in the evening, a manhunt for the wanted foe once a week and the all-out Invasion once a month. All of it without chores and without selling power. Check the Zarhold Events page to see what’s running right now — and open Zarhold.
